Social commentary and think pieces

Let's talk about: Growth

Growth is something I find really interesting. If I go back just a month or so in my diary and read what I wrote, I'm quite surprised by how I felt about different situations and the way I phrased things.

Throughout the past year I've really noticed myself growing as a person, and I've been able to see it in lots of aspects of my life. My style is changing rapidly, whether that's my fashion, the way I write or just the way I say things. If I'm honest, I'm loving it! I love that I'm getting to know myself as a person better and I love that the older and the more experienced I become in general life the more I grow and mature. Its happening very fast.

I realise now that growth comes in lots of forms, one of them being that fact that you learn from making mistakes which has a massive impact of how you grow as a person.

Making mistakes is not a negative thing at all, its part of growing up. Where would we be if we hadn't made mistakes? We would never learn. And its normal, I'm sure that in every new situation you will make a mistake and that just sets you better for the next time!
There's absolutely no point stressing over the mistakes you've made, its JUST a mistake!

I've also realised that the happier you are, the more you grow.

I was stuck in a toxic friendship for a very, very long time. Through out that time I was really  unhappy and then as soon as I shut that negative side of my life down and made friends with other people who I felt I could be myself with I was so much happier. I did that just over a year ago and in that time I have grown so, so much. Its crazy!

The more I grow and get to know myself as a person, the happier I become with myself. I feel like the more people mature the higher their self-esteem is. Which is great!

What I'm trying to say is, let yourself grow, don't stress over mistakes and put yourself first, make sure you are happy! Its all part of growing up and getting to know yourself!

  1. I'm so happy for you, this is amazing! I'm glad you managed to get out of a toxic friendship and make new friends, it must've been so hard to take the plunge, but it sounds like the benefits have been huge xx

  2. I also had a similar experience with a toxic friendship, the day I decided I want going to take anymore of it I felt like a weight had been lifted of my shoulders, I started to be myself and enjoy life more. So happy you are doing so well!
