Little ways to include self care in your daily routine

I don't know about you, but I really let things slip when it comes to self care. In all honesty, I can't remember the last time that I took care of my skin properly, or sat down to read a good book with a cuppa. Social media makes it especially hard to switch off from the outside world. I can so easily spend precious time aimlessly scrolling through Instagram's search page, and not even fully taking in what I'm seeing.

We so often say that we just don't have the time to indulge in self care. But, if you think about it, it's not really true. Self-care doesn't have to mean a bath so long that your toes turn into prunes, or a face mask every evening. Making an effort to do smaller, manageable self-care rituals is just as affective.

Take an internet detox...

We all get distracted by our phone from time to time, the temptation to just watch that Instagram story of check your messages can be such a distraction and result in us not completely switching off.
Turning off your phone for a little while everyday helps you to relax and focus on the real world. I repeat, the real world.

Make an effort to light candles...

Candles are a classic for Self-care, and so easy. It takes seconds to light a candle and instantly everything seems a whole lot cosier. Although, lighting a candle doesn't mean you have to go all out on the cosiness. You could just as easily have a candle burning while you get on with some work.

Take care of your skin...

The thought of going through the whole of my skincare routine is daunting as hell. Yes, its caring for yourself, but is it really self-care if you don't have the effort to actually do it?

There are so many products out there that are so affective in clearing up your skin that don't require a zillion other products to help it along the way. If you can get your hands on one or maybe even two good quality skincare products that are v quick and simple to use, then that would be perfect for looking after yourself, whilst being on a busy schedule.

Get some Zzzz...

Getting an early night can be difficult when you have shit loads of work to do,  but getting to bed just fifteen minutes earlier can have a huge impact on your mood. It's ridiculously simple and takes up no time at all. 



  1. For me skin care was really hard and I was neglecting it but my skin got awful and I needed to do something. ANd I'm proud because I've taken care of my skin for almost 6 months now

  7. Just a small amount of time out makes such a huge difference. If I actually set aside time to read, drink tea, do a face mask, etc, I feel so much better.
